Generating new ideas
During this hackathon, participants worked in teams to develop a prototype or proof of concept for a project. This event was sponsored by Spotify, who provided resources and guidance to participating teams.
Hackaton
In general, a hackathon is an event where designers, developers, and other creative professionals come together to collaborate and create new projects within a limited time frame, often 24-48 hours. The goal of a hackathon is to encourage innovation and problem-solving by fostering a collaborative and creative environment. Participants often work in teams to develop a prototype or proof of concept for a project, which is then presented to judges at the end of the event.

These projects may be related to software, hardware, or other areas of technology, and may address a wide range of issues or opportunities. Hackathons are often sponsored by companies or organizations seeking new ideas or solutions to problems, and winning projects may be further developed or implemented by the sponsor. Hackathons can be an exciting and challenging way for designers and developers to showcase their skills, collaborate with others, and develop new and innovative projects.
My role
During a Spotify hackathon in Japan, I joined a team of fellow designers who asked for my help in generating fresh new ideas. Together, we worked on developing several exciting concepts, including a karaoke mode, social listening events for album releases, and an altered take on the audio player. In this project, I took on the role of UI and UX designer, contributing to the overall look and feel of the projects we were working on. It was an exciting and collaborative experience, and I was proud to be a part of such a dynamic and creative team.

By the end of the event, we had developed several innovative ideas that we presented to judges, who evaluated and provided feedback on our work.
Overall, the Spotify hackathon was a fantastic opportunity to showcase my skills, collaborate with other designers, and develop new and innovative ideas that could help shape the future of music streaming.
